Fallen From Grace

Allow me to apologize for just getting around to completing this message; the health state of my Son delayed me continuing. But I have a few minutes tonight!

Jesus said in Revelation 2:5 “Remember from whence thou are fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto you quickly, and will remove your candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.” Jesus used the Apostle John to write this letter to the Pastor of the church of Ephesus, the first church. Consequently all seven letters are written to all pastors for all times. “I will come unto you quickly, and will remove your candlestick out of his place.” Because the Pastor of this church had left his first love, Jesus said I will remove your candlestick out of “his” place, not its place! The “his” Jesus was referring to was The Holy Spirit! The Spirit of God gives illumination, light, to pastors who follow after him. When a pastor ceases to follow Jesus and leaves his first love, then he will also lose the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit. And began to walk in darkness not knowing where he is going. The Holy Spirit will cease to give the light of the Spirit to follow. So the pastor no longer knows where he is going, he loses his way. John 8:12 “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” We see this happening all too often today in churches, where pastors begin to walk in darkness. And begin to do things that just don’t make sense spiritually!

Then Jesus said “Except thou repent”! There lies the problem with pastors that have left their first love, they refuse to repent. II Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” The first principle to repentance is (humbling oneself) which is very hard for men to do when they have accomplished something on their own. Most churches today are built by men and not The Holy Spirit! When Jesus had John write the seven letters to the churches He was walking among the seven golden candlesticks, Revelation 2:1. This represented Jesus as being the Head of the church. By the time he finished the letters in chapter 3, to the church of the Laodiceans. Which represents the last day church, this is today’s church, the church we are a part of, he is on the outside trying to get in. The Lord is not moving in and through the organized church. Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door. I will come into to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”
